Three Great Trims Back for an Encore

The Select and Premium trims for the Mustang Mach-E return for the 2024 model year, giving drivers an entry-level and mid-range trim. The Select is an ideal model for someone looking for a very affordably priced BEV, while the Premium adds an extended range battery, a B&O Sound System, a heated steering wheel, a memory driver’s seat, and Sideview Power-folding mirrors. If you share your Mach-E with another driver, the memory driver’s seat is a nice feature. The B&O Sound System has ten speakers with a subwoofer and is designed to maximize your enjoyment of the SYNC 4A infotainment system.

The performance-based GT trim is also back for another year. The Mustang Mach-E GT is built for speed with a more powerful set of motors and a stronger battery. It also has Ford’s MagneRide Damping System to improve comfort and handling on your vehicle. This is designed to handle rough road patches better while enhancing the cornering of the Mach-E. There is also a set of 385-mm front rotors with red-painted Brembo front brake calipers, and Ford Performance front seats. These not only look cool but also improve your overall experience. The GT also offers a GT Performance Upgrade option, adding horsepower and torque. This is the one to choose for drivers who are seriously into performance.

The New Rally Edition and Bronze Appearance Package

An exciting new trim for 2024 is the Rally Edition. This is designed for drivers who want a Mustang Mach-E that is not only fast but can also give you some off-roading enjoyment. It features the same powertrain as the GT with a specialized rallycross-tuned MagneRide Damping System. The Rally Edition has a special grille shield that integrates a set of fog lights. These will come in handy in low visibility conditions, which can often happen when driving on unpaved terrain. It also has a redesigned front splitter, giving you better approach angles and making it easier to traverse obstacles like logs and boulders. Finally, the Rally Edition features aluminum underbody shielding. This acts in a similar way to a skid plate. Like other Mach-E trims, this one has a lithium-ion battery pack located in the vehicle’s frame. This design does not take up any passenger space while also shielding it from damage. The added aluminum underbody gives you an extra line of defense, which can come in handy when driving your Mustang Mach-E on the trail.

There is also a new Bronze Appearance Package for the 2024 Mach-E. Available only on the GT trims, this will help make your Mustang Mach-E stand out in the crowd. It rides on a set of 20-inch Sinister Bronze painted aluminum wheels. The exterior comes with a choice of three amazing colors: Shadow Black, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, and Eruption Green. Each has a set of exterior badges that say Mach-E 4X on the door and GT on the rear, each outlined in the same Sinister Bronze paint as the wheels. This Bronze Edition is in keeping with Ford’s tradition of providing eye-catching exterior details with added features to enhance overall performance.

Powertrain Improvements

One thing that sets the Mach-E apart from other BEV compact SUVs is the variety of powertrain options. Ford gives you five different powertrains to choose from on the 2024 Mach-E. In addition, each has been upgraded over the ones offered in 2023.

The Select trim comes with a single rear motor, giving it rear-wheel drive. This motor is powered by a 72-kWh lithium-ion standard range battery that will give you up to 250 miles on a full charge. The actual range will depend on driving conditions as the Mach-E features regenerative braking, recapturing a portion of the vehicle’s kinetic energy released each time you step on the brake pedal to recharge the battery. This powertrain delivers up to 264 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque. While that is a decrease of two horsepower from the 2023 model, this is more than offset by an increase of 70 lb-ft of torque.

The Premium trim also comes standard with a single rear motor but features the more powerful 91-kWh lithium-ion extended-range battery pack, which can provide up to 320 miles on a full charge. This is the greatest range of any 2024 Mach-E model and is an improvement of ten miles over last year’s model. The Mach-E Premium also produces up to 290 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, which is also an additional 70 lb-ft of torque over last year.

The Select and Premium trims have optional dual-motor configurations available as well, adding a second motor to the front axle and giving the Mustang Mach-E all-wheel drive. This is available with the 72-kWh standard range battery or the 91-kWh extended range battery pack. The one with the standard range battery will give you up to 230 miles on a full charge, an increase of six miles over the 2023 model. Meanwhile, the extended-range battery delivers up to 300 miles of range. The output is also greater than the prior year’s versions of these powertrains. The 2024 dual motor with standard range battery delivers 325 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, increasing by 14 hp and 73 lb-ft of torque. As for the extended range battery, this will give you 365 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 19 hp and 72 lb-ft of torque. The Dual Motor with the extended-range battery is standard equipment on the GT trim, enabling it to go from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.8 seconds.

The most powerful powertrain is featured on the Rally Edition and the GT Performance trims of the Mach-E. This uses the same 91-kWh extended-range battery but has a pair of more powerful motors. When you choose either trim, you get a powertrain that delivers 480 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque. This is 66 lb-ft of torque more than the 2023 Mach-E GT Performance model. It can also reach 280 miles of range, an increase of ten miles. With this enhanced powertrain, the GT Performance and Rally Edition trims can go from 0 to 60 mph in an eye-blinking 3.3 seconds. This is how a compact SUV model named for a sports car earns its pedigree.
